Mighty Shiny Farewell Show

August 3rd, 2010

It’s the end of an era, or maybe two: Mighty Shiny is calling it a day. Join us and Topsy, Buzzyshyface, and special guests for our farewell show at the Skylark on Saturday, August 14th!

Mighty Shiny will be bringing a selection of your all-time fave Shiny hits for their farewell performance, with friend and long-time supporter Milton Garrison sitting in on a few songs.

Topsy is a new band featuring Rich Sikorski of Hot Club Sandwich and the Tune Stranglers (and Greg’s old college roommate). Topsy plays and sings the old time pop hits of the ’20s and ’30s with high energy and a helping of gypsy/hot jazz. Greg of Mighty Shiny will be sitting in on drums.

Buzzyshyface is the team-up of Megan Pickerel (Hazelwood Motel, Swoon 23) and Herman Jolly (Little Pieces, Sunset Valley). Check out their Facebook page for more.

It should be a great night. Come out and help celebrate/commemorate Seattle’s favorite unknown pop-rock three-piece! Remember, admission is free, so bring your friends and we hope to see you there! (And whether you can make it or not, thanks for your support and friendship over the years. It’s meant the world to us.)

9:00 – Buzzyshyface
9:30 – Topsy
10:30 – Mighty Shiny
11:30 – stay tuned!

Check out the video clips below featuring Mighty Shiny playing “Volcano” (or “Volcano 2″, according to Neil) and “Nova Skin” at the Skylark on September 5, 2009, with guest Tony Trunzo on guitar! The audio is from the Skylark’s multitrack setup, so strap on some headphones and listen to the fine detail.

Mighty Shiny at the Skylark, Sat. Sept. 5th!

August 18th, 2009

Mighty Shiny roars back onto the stage at the Skylark on Saturday, September 5th, with pal Tony Trunzo in tow on 2nd guitar! The Skylark is a great place to play and see shows, features great eats and a generous selection of brews, and is just off the Delridge exit on the edge of West Seattle. We’re in the coveted, cozy middle slot, after The Vague Prophets and before Post Adolescence. Come witness the dual-guitar assault and get Tony’s autograph.

We’ll have new Shiny swag at thrifty prices – nifty new T-shirts, our CD, and free stickers for your Pee-Chee or locker. And as always, there’s no cover at the Skylark! See you there!

Thanks for coming to the Summerfest!

Thanks for coming out to witness Mighty Shiny in the great outdoors of West Seattle! It was a fun show, and many traveled from far and wide, which we greatly appreciate.
